After staying at the same house for many years, most homeowners would be hankering for a new look to freshen up the whole place. What would you do when you are living in a space constrained house and would want it to look like a lavish mansion without making any structural changes to its original layout?
There are many ways of making your dream come through by using the minimal approach of combining silver colored paint with some sand plywood furniture. Both compliment each other real well. Door and window frames can be painted silver to blend in with some silver blinds to give that soft lighting approach which would be most effective in defining the architecture of space.
By using a mix and match of pastel colors plus simple furniture of a sandy feel, your whole place would be turned into a sanctuary of your own. Using a few varieties of glass tile would give your home the additional sparkles to portray a sense of tranquility and eventually brighten up your days after a hard day’s of work.

It has been known that some homeowners have been under some sort of dilemma as what to do with the dull space they have in their garden. To fill the large place up with lots of plants might not be practical after all as it would involve a great deal of care with lots of sweeping, watering and maintenance. With a bit of sentimental touch by mixing and matching some tiles and constructing certain structures such as a swimming pool and/or a gazebo, things might be a bit more relaxing and interesting. This move would provide easy maintenance and it also literally gives your garden an additional “outdoor room”.
Gazebos are among the prettiest additions you will ever make to your landscape. With careful planning, tasteful design, well placed furniture and potted plants, your dull looking garden would be instantly transformed into your little sanctuary, giving you the best time of your life. Not only would your peak-quality western red cedar gazebo beautify your garden, it would be the ideal place for some relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of your office life.
There are so many styles of gazebos to choose from, ranging from Victorian, Monterey, Carlisle, Tattle Creek, San Cristobal, Coventry or even Montpellier. I personally prefer the Montpellier design due to the frequent hot weather here. This style of gazebos looked elegant and spacious, while providing the desired relief from the beating rays of the sun. Won’t it be nice to just laze around, sipping your favorite drink and enjoy a stress free vacation right in your own garden?

I’m not sure if everyone could still remember the cartoon aired in the 80’s on the wonderful family called The Jetsons? The Jetson family live in Skypad Apartments in Orbit City, where all homes and businesses are raised high above the ground and built with a futuristic architecture? You would be surprised that we have one of those constructions right here in Bukit Tunku, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It’s none other than the home of YTL Corporation Berhad’s Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Francis Yeoh.
Completed in the latter part of 2008, the residence is the ultimate expression of the taste, influence and industrial-scale capabilities of the prominent family whose entrepreneurial activities have shaped Kuala Lumpur’s skyline. You would find within this 3,000 square meter enclave 9 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms, 2 guest suites, a ballroom, a study, a game room, a swimming pool, 2 family halls, a private dining, public reception area and huge private and public parking bays. At one glance, it indeed looked like the cage for my cats when handling them to the vet. How I wished I were a cat in that huge cage as the whole interior was furnished with state-of-the-art furniture and fitting. It was indeed my dream home but then only a few pockets are large enough to buy one. Haiz! There goes my dream!
I wonder if I could only get one of this for my house. Even with my endless hours of struggling to earn more money, I don’t think I could even afford just the swimming pool. Mr. Yeoh… any chance of renting out just the pool? LOL!

Since kitchen has been an essential center for all our culinary activities, focus and attention should be given to the remodeling of the whole place. A fresh facelift would do a great deal in pepping up our moods and inspire us to prepare the best meals for our family. What more, it has also become part of the gathering place for the whole household members.
Each individual has his or her own preferences to a kitchen. Generally, all of us have one thing in common, that is to have a kitchen that would be less cluttered with areas that’s easy to clean. Hidden cabinets with easy to reach arrangement would do the job well to keep everything out of sight. I guessed having a high quality laminated surface would be ideal for cleaning compared to those wooden ones that would absorb greases easily.
What about the dish washing area or even the usual hand washing sinks? Don’t you want to get that in the highlight of your guests’ topic of discussion? You could always opt for those beautiful stone vessel sinks which would give you the feel of the countryside. These sinks would surely be easy to clean and are very hard, durable and generally acid resistant. Don’t you think they would be ideal in terms of creativity and practicality?

How often did you hear someone telling you not to skip breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day? You might be wondering what the heck it has to do with you as you could save up a certain sum of money by skipping the meal. You are truly wrong about this misperception as breakfast is surely the most important meal of the day not because of anything else but for your health reason. Can you imagine yourself trying to start your car on an empty fuel tank? How would you expect the car to move without any fuel? The same principle applies to your body. It would not have the necessary energy to sustain your concentration and stamina for the rest of the day.
You might not realize the side effect of skipping breakfast which is going to make your body functions quite chaotic. You tend to eat more frequent and most of the time it would be food that would not contain the necessary nutrients to stay healthy. There are no fixed rules that breakfast must consist of cereal and bread. It could well be fruits or any leftovers. As long as you get your stomach filled prior to going out in the morning, you would be way safe with your “car engine”. You won’t get breakdowns or inconsistent filling up throughout the day. Thus, you would be more attentive and alert towards you daily duties.
Most of the time, I would have bread for breakfast but it’s getting really unhealthy with all those hidden ingredients. Can you imagine the long term consumption of those preservative filled fruit jams or even peanut butter? I would need something fresh, something that I could grow easily and have access to them conveniently. I was thinking of the hardy Blackberry plants which would easily grow on any type of soil. Won’t it be nice have fresh blackberries with cereals, fresh blackberry jams or even blackberry pies for breakfast? I’m anxiously waiting to purchase those yummy fruit plants now.
