The floggers’ gathering evening of “Fun, Wild & Intimate” as the theme was for that night was unique. We had Bulgarian food. The dinner started with a choice between two soups – Mushroom Soup with Vintage Garlic Bread and Seafood Soup. Both were delicious. As for the main dish, we can opt for Bulgarian Pork Djolan (Traditional roasted pork knuckle), Baked Cod Fish Fillet in Creamy mushroom sauce, Chicken Stroganov (Boneless chicken drumstick cut into strips, cooked with mushroom, wine, cream, herbs & spices), Plovdiv Ribs (Tasty pork ribs grilled till tender) and Bulgarian Platter. These were followed with another two choices of desserts which were Chocolate Soup and Chocolate Cream Brulee.
When I thought that was all that they would have for the fun-filled gathering, the organizer announced that there were more food sponsors for the night. We were given more sweet treats courtesy of Winter Butterfly Homemade Cakes with the availability of Oreo Cheese Cake, Cream Cheese Mousse Cake and Chocolate Brownies. Moreover, we were also treated with some delicious gelatos from Gelatisimo. It was a night of eating, eating and eating nonstop.
Gosh! The large portion of the high calorie main dishes plus all the sweet dessert, have indeed affected my diet plans for the weekends. The reading of calories and glucose had gone beyond the safety level but I’m not panicking. Who would if you have the top rated weight loss pills around to justify the excess food feasting?

You were standing in a barbeque line to get to your food. You spotted something good and the aroma coming from the stove kept your tummy yearning for more of those hot and spicy, not forgetting oily seafood platters. Those fish could well be safe for your diet as they are low in fat and high in protein but the method of preparation was a bit risky. There were spices and coconut milk in them. Grilling might sounds good but the amount of carbon accumulated might tarnish your health. You paused. You contemplated whether to follow the queue or to quit. Awww… those clams, mussels, scallops, shrimps and squids were too good to resist! There goes your diet plan. You lost your battle against your temptation to savor those fat-rich food again. Isn’t this what happened to us when we were trying to scale down our weight?
Well, there’s the good and evil in that. The good part would be that you have the best weight loss supplements to burn out all the fat that you had gained. The evil part would be that you just do not heed your health at all and fall into the obese category. Under a prediction by the World Health Organization, there would be about 2.3 billion overweight adults in the world by 2015 and more than 700 million of them will be obese. That’s an alarming figure, thus something has to be done to create the awareness on obesity before more people are down with obese related complications.
Obese related illness can be quite fatal. They include high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes type 2, congestive heart failure, heart diseases, stroke, gallstones and gallbladder disorders, gout, osteoarthritis, cancer, pregnancy complications, female reproductive health and so on. On top of that, there would also be the psychological disorders which would trigger depression, eating disorder and low self esteem due to unbalanced figures. Won’t it be better if we were to stay fit and healthy instead?

Asbestos is TOXIC! That’s what many people would know and the thought of mesothelioma, an asbestos caused cancer, would send many scrambling for a safer hideout. What do you know about mesothelioma then? The only known cause of mesothelioma is through a long term exposure to the fibers found in asbestos. The material was found to be highly hazardous to the human health as it affects the membranes that surround the lungs and the lining of the abdomen. It would normally be too late when diagnosed with this type of cancer as the remaining life span would be between 1-5 years.
The extrapolated incidence of mesothelioma throughout the world could be real high with China, India and USA claiming the top 3 spots. Asbestos may have been banned in many countries but many could not avoid using it as its uses remained quite irreplaceable. Asbestos has good sound absorption qualities, tensile strength and is also resistance to heat, electricity and chemical damage.
The three most common forms of asbestos are chrysotile, amosite, and crocidolite. Chrysotile or white asbestos accounts for approximately 90-95% of the asbestos used in US production of asbestos products. Of the 3 forms of industrial asbestos, amosite has been found to be the most hazardous asbestos mineral. Amosite has a straight, hollow, minute and feather-like fiber structure and can stay almost invisible to the human eyes and airborne for up to 72 hours. Although asbestos has been recycled to be made into harmless glass, porcelain stoneware tiles, porous single-fired wall tiles and ceramic bricks, it is best that we do not use such material at all for the sake of the health of our loved ones.

With the current El Nino effect in this part of the world causing intense humidity with barely any noticeable breeze, the pool would be the perfect place to cool myself off. I have been doing that a lot recently by soaking myself to the peak each day. It indeed paid off when you have some cool pool furniture around to make life’s a heaven. Can you imagine how relax I was floating above the water while sipping my favorite drink? The wonderful part of the great fun I had was everything was afloat including my water snack buoy. Don’t you think that’s a great way to laze about and yet not having to get out of the pool to get your snack and beverage?
Having the pool furniture to create that ideal and cozy outdoor space have since given me the wonderful pleasure of cooling off and at the same time stayed free from any stress and tension. Instead of incurring more cost for entertainment outdoor, I could have all the enjoyment I want just a few steps away from my home. Moreover, the kickboard float I had made great exercise equipment. I always love to clamp the board between my legs and swim a few rounds as it would help me get the necessary exercise I would need. That’s the best way to utilize as many muscles I have and improve my stamina and overall physique.
I would think my friends would also be interested to join me in this pampered environment. Maybe I would look into getting a black steel charcoal barbecue grill to hold a party as well. I’m sure none of my friends would reject to the idea of having that additional pool furniture. Let’s party everyone!

After reading Alex Haley’s wonderful novel titled Roots and watching the 1977 mini TV series of the same name, it got me interested in how the author managed to trace his roots as far back as nine generations. It was really amazing to trace his ancestors all the way to the grandmother of Kunta Kinte. That got me pondering how I could repeat that feat so that I could keep the family tree album complete in order to pass on to my future generation.
It was not an easy task since I had not much information on the paternal site of my family but I managed to get great results by relying on ancestry dna testing. The human DNA can be quite unique as it can be passed from parents to children relatively unchanged through many generations. The Y chromosome would be used for the paternal line whereas the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) would be examined for the maternal line.
Another important factor while looking up your ancestry would be your ancestors’ medical history. This would be on a precaution basis to check if there are any major diseases such as diabetes, heart related problems and so on that might be inherited along the line that could possibly affect the health of yours as well as the future generations. After all, prevention would be better than cure as medical treatments would not be so cheap nowadays.
